My Year-Ender (Part 2)

Aside from family travels, 2010 was also bonding year (read...LAKWATSA year)for me and my friends. We went to Bulalacao, the farthest town in our province. I was so amazed in the development. The last time I visited the southern part of our island was, when I was in my early 20s. That's two decades ago.

Roads are now cemented, whereas before, it took me 4 hours to reach this place from our capital town of Calapan. There was no electricity back then. There's an old house turned into a lodging place where upon check-in, the staff gave me candle to use at night. And oh boy, it's really creepy when I went to the common toilet in the middle of the night with this flickering light. Add to that the smell of bats and sometimes I disturbed them that they flew above the ceiling in the hallway...sounds like a horror movie right? But I was so adventurous and brave back then. I booked in this lodging house twice. Well, it's the only one in those days. NO choice!

Anyway, now the town was being developed as one of the tourist attractions of Or.Mindoro. It has beautiful and undisturbed small islands. We went island hopping. Before heading home the next day, we went dried fish shopping in the market and stopped over in the white sand beach of Buktot in Mansalay town.

In the flower month of May, we attended Pahiyas Festival in Lucban, Quezon. This was our, me & my daughter's, first time to see the colorful fiesta. It's worth the long walk and ride.

Summer season ended and as monsoon period came in, we hibernated. Then came September, (w/ sound, ^wink^)tarararan...our out of the country month, we went to Vietnam and Cambodia. This tour was superb. It was indeed very educational for me.

And to end another year of camaraderie, we had X'mas party last Dec.5 at my place. We had so much fun.

I thank God for my friends, the blessings and the good life that He gave each one of us. I wish and pray that 2011 will be another nurturing year for our friendship.

My year-ender (Part I)

I love Boracay sunset!

This year-ender came late. I was too preoccupied last December and I don't have time to do some blogging. Now I'm back on a slow mode...nothing much to do but think and look back.

2010 was a great year for my family. We had lots of bonding moments. Thanks to my hubby's transfer to our province. He now have time to join us in our adventures.

February is Andrei's birthday month and we went to my favorite Boracay. I booked in Station 1 where there are quite few tourists compared to our usual Station 2 accommodations. We had fun...fun...fun...

My favorite photo of the island...it's my perfect picture of the perfect white beach...

Off-school months of April and May were super vacation. It was swimming season for my kids. But the most memorable was our China tour which was real adventure. It was learning China History 101 :-) in Beijing and Shanghai.

This was taken by the tour guide in The Bundt, Shanghai. It was raining but he insisted on us posing without any umbrella.

Springtime in Beijing...this is Magnolia in bloom.

In Tiananmen Square

Our last travel for the year was Bellaroca in Marinduque. Wow, it's superb weekend. We took a rough boat ride from Lucena to Mogpog then wet-wet-wet ride to Buenavista. Our destination was Bellaroca Resort. It's an island resort in the likeness, "sabi ng iba", of Santorini in Greece. We stayed two nights and it was really relaxation ever. This weekend vacation was sponsored by my husband's friend...thank you so much!
